Jesse Winchester of Long Sault Back From Injury in Panthers 3-2 Come Back Win Over Ottawa Senators

412px-Jesse_WinchesterSouth Stormont – Long Sault native Jesse Winchester of the Florida Panthers (pictured in an Ottawa Senators jersey on left) has returned to action after an 8 game injury lay off.

Jesse is having his best NHL season yet with 9 goals and 8 assists in 43 games.  He’s also added in 51 hits.

The 6’1″ 200 pounder previous best season in the NHL was 2008/09 season when he scored 18 points in 76 games with the Sens.

Mostly used a bottom six “Energy” forward this year as the Panthers floundered he’s had more ice time up front.

The former Colgate college player went straight to the NHL after signing with Ottawa back in 2008, and is very popular locally in the off season.

He had 4 shots in the Panthers come from behind 3-2 victory over Ottawa in Tuesday night’s game.
